Overnight Trip
African Getaway
Join us for a taste of Africa on our visit to one of the Poconos newest resorts. We have planned an exotic weekend at the Kalahari Resort in Pennsylvania this fall. We will be staying in spacious suites to provide ample space for socializing. The numerous activities offered at the resort include a large arcade and family entertainment center adjacent to their indoor water park with several restaurants and bars on site for evening enjoyment. Our days will be filled with exploring the local area such as shopping at Crossings Outlet Mall, hiking Bushkill Falls or gambling at Mount Airy Casino. This will be a fun filled weekend for everyone to enjoy.

Fall Recreation Programs
Fitness: Dancersize
Under the guidance of Randi Rae, you will have the opportunity to lose weight and become healthy while having a fun workout with your friends. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a bottle of water to each class.

Fitness: Yoga
Join our certified yoga instructor for a low energy workout this spring. Kelly will focus on gentle movement, breathing techniques, and relaxation to help disconnect from the stresses of life. No experience is required. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a bottle of water.

GolfAdvanced Golf
This is an instructional program that focuses on improving your game and preparing for competition. Michelle will provide 45 minutes of instruction of special skills such as full swing, chipping, pitching, bunker shots and trouble shots, and putting. The other 45 minutes will be spent working on the golf course. This program will prepare you for the Special Olympics competition for the athletes who are interested.

Broadcast Club
The Broadcast Club is back for another year of theater and fun with our enthusiastic leader, Colleen Finnegan from Enspirited Productions. Colleen will provide several months of instruction in acting and dance while building creativity and confidence throughout the process. This year we will be putting on our first full play, Bugsy Malone! Based on the 1976 film, with gangsters and flappers, this will be one show that you do not want to miss out on!

Fishing Derby
Come enjoy a day of fishing and picnicking by Lake Topenemus in Freehold! All equipment will be provided.

Office Hours
The Recreation Department office hours are from 9:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The office phone is 732-493-0225.

Change of Address/Phone Number/Other Information
If you have moved or changed your phone number, please let us know. It is important that the Recreation Department is kept up-to-date in order to provide you with the best possible service. Download and fill out a new Personal Information Form. Personal Information Forms are good for 2 years.

Limited transportation is available for some of the special events for those individuals who do not have any means of transportation. There is a small fee for transportation when available.

Inclement Weather
In the event of poor or questionable weather, call our office for updated information. Our number is (732) 493-0225. When the program is cancelled, a message will be left no later than 1 1/2 hours prior to the activity. If the agency closes for the day, the evening recreation programs are automatically cancelled.

If fewer than the minimum participants register for a program, it may be cancelled. A program reimbursement or credit slip will be issued. Refunds are NOT guaranteed for any program. If the individual cancels for a program, he or she must give at least (3) three days’ notice for a refund. Please note that in the event of a cancellation, we may not be able to refund your money.

Volunteers are always welcome and needed. If you are interested in helping out with Recreation programming and events please call the office at (732) 493-0225 or download the volunteer registration form and mail it to us.

Janice Colondrillo Recreation Fund
Janice Colondrillo, a member of The Arc of Monmouth and the daughter of Winter Glow Ball Committee members, passed away in September 2007. Janice enjoyed many recreational activities and loved to travel with her family. With this in mind, these recreational funds were developed in memory of Janice. Please consider donating to this fund to help Janice’s friends attend recreation events!
